Leak below shower

I have just gotten to warmer area and dewinterized. Everything seemed to be working well and then my wife and I both took showers. We both conserved water by using the on and off switch on the spray. The water pressure is about 50 psi. All of a sudden I had a leak directly below where the shower is located. I ran the spray yesterday to clean the shower pan and no leak. Could I have been getting blow back from using the on/off switch on the spray. If so could it just be a loose connection behind the faucet. Any ideas how to get at it. I think I had this on another motorhome but can't remember what I did. I think I just quit using the spray switch. 2015 Winnebago Sightseer 35G.
  • Thanks. Took showers without using the shutoff and no leak. So for now not using shutoff. When I have time I think I can fix it. I too like to fix things. Makes me more secure.
  • Had same problem on our 2014. Dealer fixed it same way you did. I think they pulled the hall panel out half way and tightened the fittings. Had it there for a leveler problem so no extra aggravation. I also like to fix what I can myself. A low pressure leak like that could do a lot of water damage if ignored.
  • Thanks Bully dog 1. You inspired my memory and this problem had previously been in a BT Cruiser I owned. The shower controls backed up to the hallway and there was a nice panel that opened by removing a few screws. I went in and a half crank on the screw and all was well. This shower backs up to the bedroom dressers and closet and I checked for panels behind and none exists. However I looked again at the shower and it has a base plate that matches the shower wall and screws are covered so just released the caulk and open but I will need to remove the faucet handles as well and then full access. I am traveling and on a semi-deadline so stopping at a dealer is going to be a problem and we can work around by using the faucets instead of the spray delay. I will get an RV tech when I can and have it fixed and fight with Winnebago about some reimbursement. I have had three Winnebago motorhomes in the last ten years and this has had more quality control issues. Most of a small nature but you buy new to avoid these problems. My dealer has been great about fixing them and a local Camping World that is a Winnebago dealer but was not until recently has also been very helpful. I have to join the folks who have been suggesting quality control has become a problem.
  • It's a 2015 and probably something as simple as a loose connection of the plumbing...

You are under warranty..any chance of getting it to a Winne dealer?..or call Winne..there is a panel on one of the back walls to get to the faucet...if you pull that off then start the shower as you did and cut it off..the back pressure might be at the faucet connection as pressure builds up...you can get a flashlight to look..in my coach, the wall access plate is in the bedroom behind the bath to get to the back of the faucet..two screws hold it on...
