Today is our first time boondocking with our new MH. I filled the fresh water tank to the top then we headed to our boondock spot at the beach.When I turned the pump on water came out of the "fresh water fill" inlet. This was due to the diverter valve being in the wrong position. When I switch the position water just leaks out of the fresh water fill inlet. If I leave it in this position I can use the pump and build pressure BUT water still pours out (slowly). If I change the position of the valve is stops pouring out UNTIL I turn the pump on. Then it is just pumping it out.Is it possible that I have just over filled the fresh water tank and that's why its leaking while in the closed position?Camper = 2005 Holiday Rambler Admiral.

Is this a new coach to you? Has it worked correctly before? It sounds like a check valve on the pump outlet. I'm not anywhere near an expert but thats what I would be looking for. Let us know what it is please.

I had the fill valve go bad on my Monaco coach. A quick fix is to go to a hardware store and buy one of the shut off valves for hose bibs. This stopped the leakage. I'm guessing that you have had an O-ring failure within the valve.

Does the coach have a winterization by-pass as well? If so, the setting their might be incorrect.

I would verify that the pump is installed correctly. Check water line connections.Check the power to the pump to insure it is rotating in the correct direction.Has it ever worked?Does it work properly when connected to city water?

There is a check valve on the fresh water connect. I have replace my a couple times .

The dock water inlet has a check valve built into it in the center. When you connect the hose, the pressure forces the check valve open. sometimes that valve doesn't seat correctly when you disconnect the hose and when you turn on the pump, water leaks out the check valve. To attempt to reseat it, you have to bleed off any pump pressure and push the check valve lightly with a screw driver where the hose screws on. Turn the pump back on and see if it still leaks. Worse case, you have to replace the inlet fitting with the check valve.

Assuming you are getting pressure in all your spigots in the moho. With pump running and inlet uncapped if one of your valves was shut it would be natural for water to exit wherever it could.

For now I used a cap to plug it. I will look into the root cause when I get home.

One more thing. If this is a new motorhome you should have a cap to close the water inlet hose connection. Make sure it is secure. I also have an outside fill option with a screw on cap.

Probably over filled but I would push the little plastic valve behind the screen a few times to make sure it is closing. It can get stuck.

You can also get a sealing cap at any hardware store. That will fix things for now. Then all you have to do is remove it when you want to fill the tank.

I did the same thing years ago, pulled out that sitinkin' plastic check valve and put in a manual valve like that pictured.

Yes.
I never fill mine over 2/3 when it's going to be on the road.
Drain out a couple of gallons and see if the problem stops.

Sounds like check valve in fresh water fill connection is not seating fully and allowing water to leak out from pump pressure.
