leaking

After posting about a rv we looked at that had leak stains, someone responded by saying all class C's had leaked or would leak.....so heres' my question....we don't want an A, B, pop up or travel trailer
SO how do I get over my fear of leaky C's????
  • Mainly the older neglected ones leak. You need to do a yearly check of every protrusion on the roof. Vents, plumbing vents, air conditioner, TV antenae, frig. vent, and all the seems. Find a clean one take care of it and enjoy. Make sure you don't get one with wavy flat siding, that's delam and already has water damage. We have an old C and sure like ours.

  • Leaking Class C's may be inevitable, however, it may be minimized by constant maintenance. Solid fiberglass roofs are less likely to leak, but still need re-caulking of the seams as do all kinds of roofs. Caulking around windows should be checked regularly, also. Some roofs need to be coated with the proper material yearly. Caulking around running lights, vents, antennas, and air conditioners also need to be checked. It sounds like a lot of work, but does not need to be done in one day. Important that you do not wait until a leak is discovered to check all seams.
