They certainly will save power over the incandescents for drycamping purposes, whether that translates into saving enough energy dollars to offset their cost when plugged into shorepower depends on how much they are utilized, I suspect it will take quite a long time to realize value of investment.
We have performed an LED conversion throughout the interior of our rig with the sole intent of extending the capabilities of our stored 12 volt power source when camping off the grid, and they have delivered magnificently upon this premise. Almost felt like we added another battery after the conversion, used both Ebay and local LED resellers, all LEDs were manufactured in China and none have failed after 3 years of heavy use.
