As an older coach owner, I believe that most of what you state is true. One has to ask "why does someone purchase an older coach?". I believe it is for one or more reasons with the primary ones being that they can afford the lower price or that they just like the older one that they purchased.
We fit both of those reasons. Just bought a 2004 Southwind. As I've told many of our friends, "It wasn't at all what we were looking for, but it was just what we wanted!" As soon as we stepped inside we loved the look, the feel, the floor plan, and the 'upgrades," and the overall condition of the vehicle. The fact that it was less than half the price of the other coaches we were looking at allows us a lot of wiggle room for the inevitable repairs as well as our own upgrades. We expect to put on a LOT of miles once I retire this summer!
