Looks cool!! But you live in desert country. Looks like our 2004 26Q. Some like it hot! A white paint job shouldn't cost way too much, if needed.
I have a very good friend in Ohio who is a barn painter.
He and I have talked a bit.
You never know what might happen when Jack gets on the other side of that big river .... - BordercollieExplorerLooks cool!! But you live in desert country. Looks like our 2004 26Q. Some like it hot! A white paint job shouldn't cost way too much, if needed.

Sounds like you folks are a couple of burned out old Hippies. (I am one.....) Your adventure is going to be great. I'm going to start reading your blog. I have had a 94 Tioga similiar to your rig. made many repairs... Email me with any questions. Might save you some time fixing stuff....
Thank you for your offer. I will hit you up as needed. So far, the mechanical bits are in very good condition. The inside systems appear to be in good shape also. Hopefully this will remain a "not too crazy" remodel. - fourthclassCExplorerSounds like you folks are a couple of burned out old Hippies. (I am one.....) Your adventure is going to be great. - DrewEExplorer IIIWelcome! It sounds like you're in for quite the adventure, hopefully a lot of fun.
(I can only assume you're not planning on driving down the road with a garden attached to the side of the RV!) - luvztheoutdoor1ExplorerGood luck with your adventure.
- LifeInsideJackExplorerSomewhere in Jack's life he became the changing room for a competitive Dance/Cheer squad. They painted him a terrifying bright pink. Well, that wasn't going to stay. So the previous owners changed him to black. Although they admitted Jack was hot to the touch, their experience was that he stayed cool inside. Now let's agree that they were trying to sell Jack so we'll take that statement with a pinch of cautious acceptance.
Our plan is to live in Jack full-time. Although we are 53/42 we are still college students. We are active in holistic health, natural living and sustainable lifestyles. Jack will allow us to travel to Health Expos where we can share our words of encouragement, our life experiences with Big Pharm and help spread the word about living naturally.
Also, we plan to attend festivals such as Coachella, Stagecoach, Burning Man and whatever else. Eventually Cat will head to Grad School (Physics) and wherever that is Jack will take us. She will finish her studies as I continue to demonstrate how to garden anywhere, live your dream and help others via Teaching by Example.
Cat is an Electrical Engineer. I worked in Animal Welfare (production animals such as cows, chickens etc), Water Control Devices and the two of us are knowledgeable regarding Solar power generation. That's how we met.
I will snow coat the roof as soon as the solar mounts are installed and then the top will be covered in solar panels. The complete build blog will be on Google+ and Blogger.

We plan to modify Jack quite a bit. That's why we went used and why Jack stuck out in our decision. This summer there will be a garden mounted to his side. Solar covering the roof, designing the insides with color, textiles and the unexpected.
Life Inside Jack is the pendulum pushed to the other extreme. Take what you like, leave the rest. Live healthy, Live wholly. Live free.
Montana - j-dExplorer IIWelcome!
What kind of RVing are you planning on?
Some of us stick to local stuff like state/county/private parks near home,
or "shorter" trips, say 1000 miles or less,
then some do cross country or close to it,
But if you haven't camped in a trailer or coach, suggest "camping" at home for a weekend. It'll tell you what you're forgetting, maybe even start to hint at what you've packed and don't need. - gboppExplorerWelcome to the forum.
I'm guessing the roof is still white, that should help keep it cool.
I think the black gives it a Stealth look.
Enjoy your adventure and travels. - Mike_LeslieExplorerWhy did you paint your rig? I kind of like the monotone. Is it dark grey?
