Hello All,
Can anyone pipe in with an average lifespan of a ducted roof air unit? I can't really find anything on the internet that gives any idea. - Tom

  • We have the Dometic Brisk Air units on our 17 year coach and just this year had to replace the control modules in both and a blown start capacitor in one.
  • Covered storage, open air storage, humid climate, dry climate?? Lots of things likely effect the lifespan. My RV is 13 years old and both still work fine. I did replace the covers a couple of years ago as they were brittle and falling apart.
  • It really depends on where you are.
Here in Western Washington they will probably out last the RV 6~10 times but in Florida, who knows!
  • Our heat pumps are now 13 years old. They are kept clean and still working.
Thought I had a bad capicator a few days ago. It was jut one unit set lower on the thermostat.
We did replace a capictator two years ago.
  • Ours is 13 years old and we're fulltime the last 7 years and it gets used for both hot and cold it's a heat pump.
  • I doubt that anyone here can authoritatively answer that. I can tell you that the 22 year old A/C's on a previous RV we owned are still working fine. As are the 16 year old A/C's on our current coach.
