liquid balance

When they were first put on they did have a peculiar smell to them----sort of like chicken compost. But since getting back home I do not smell them anymore.

There was a discussion a few weeks ago about Toyo tires having a barnyard smell.

Do your tires smell bad?

As a follow up on the Toyo tires and liquid balance I can say I am completely pleased with the ride and performance. We just got back from Florida and the ride was so much better than before. Not trying to single out any one state but any tire that can handle I-95 thru SC and not blow out due to impact has got to be a good tire. If anyone has any concerns with their tires, that stretch of interstate will let you know for sure.

I remember guys putting transmission fluid inside the tires in the early 60's which worked.

After a lot of research I am going with the liquid as well. I am having 6 new Toyo's installed today. One of the major tire installers here only uses liquid on tires 19.5 and up. Mine are the 22.5.

I have had liquid in my new Hankook tires (22.5 inch) for 3 years and they are perfectly balanced all the time. Not a quiver.This material is also freeze proof at all temps. Would do it again.

Back when you put weights on the rim, I would reject a 22.5 tire if it took more than 5 oz to balance... half of what's recommended above.

Those charts assume worse case scenario, meaning cheap tire badly imbalanced.
I think I put 1/2 what they recommend as I had high-performance tires.
