List of Towable Vehicles

Does anyone know where there is a listing of vehicles that can be towed four down? What makes/models do you tow. We have a 25 Ft. Chev Chassis 4500 6.0 engine. But I want to go as small and light as I can.
Was wondering what you use as a dingy...John
  • Motorhome magazine publishes a list of towable cars each year. It is mailed to subscribers and I believe it is on line but you may have to pay for it. In addition, Blue Ox and other tow equipment manufacturers have online catalogs of their equipment and the cars it is used on.
  • Keep in mind there are lots of "User Manuals" that do not recommend towing but are towable, Honda Civics are a good example. Naturally, you will need a manual transmission in the Civic you might wish to tow.
  • Here's one link for 2013 vehicles, I gave you last week on one of your other threads about towing. As I stated last time a vehicle that is rated as towable from one model year might not be towable in a different model year, or the procedure/requirements might be different.
I thought you intended to try a few trips without a toad ?
I had a 22' class C and currently have a 24'er and a 32 1/2'er. I never had the need for a toad with the 22' or the 24'. I've had the bigger one since last March and in about 13 or 14 trips I've managed to get by without having to tow anything.
  • I believe that the FMCA list for the 2014s should be out soon.
  • Use any list stated above. BUT, always look at the owner's manual to ensure the car is towable 4 down and what the requirements are. We have a 2012 Ford Focus.
