I have witnessed gensets with clogged filters doing exactly that. They idle and run ok at low rpm but die when the RPMs raise to meet the higher load from both ACs. Some RV brands put a filter in front of the genset and it never gets changed. We tailgate football games so are around hundreds of RVs that run their gensets 500 hours per year. My 05 has over 4000 hours on it. Pretty typical.
