When you are traveling down the road, do you leave the exterior locked or unlocked?

I have had the door come open when traveling. On a paved highway!
Therefore, usually the last thing I do before driving off is set the deadbolt so the door will not open.

I have never had a basement compartment door come open, so I rarely lock them.
