Sounds like a mid-summer vacation to FL is in order here and especially when the trip will be more than paid for, if those kind of prices are common place in your area.

I believe he said he had never drove a Class A before. Basically the salesman threw the keys at him and off he went.

I suggest you email him back your requirements and let him know you are serious. But there is no deal unless your reasonable demands are met.
Ask him if he drove it before he purchased it originally?

I think most people selling a motorhome would bend over backwards to accommodate a buyer.
Either they do not really want to sell the rig or, they're hiding something.
I would walk away from this deal, something isn't right.

I wouldn't buy it either. Cost too much.
