looking for a 'toad' - Suzuki X90?

If anyone is looking for a Suzuki x90 or any other models a friend of mine who own's a car and RV shop has a bunch of them he reconditions for RV tow vehicles, location is Jacksonville Fl.

We have two Suzi's, a 1995 Sidekick and a 2006 Grand Vitara. Both are 4X4/auto. We tow 4 down and the 95 is very easy three steps, put in park, transfer case in Neutral and ignition in first position. We have had both off road and the 06 is a little more comfortable but the 95 is more fun. It's kind of like a quad but with four doors and a roof.

I was hoping the DGKs would like the Sidekick for a beater but they want a sedan. I guess someday I'll have to put it on the block but for now, I'll keep both of them.

When we were down in Canyonlands below Dead Horse Point, people thought we were nuts but I didn't care, they were in BIG SUV's in 4 wheel drive and we were still in 2 wheel drive. I've had several 4X4's and seldom use it, not as useful as some folks make it out to be. Best car for towing in my opinion and required for towing 4 down.

My wife calls that car "the sneaker" we saw one on the back of a Prevost with a license plate I push.....Suzuki had some good cars at good prices but then decided to pull out of USA....I had a tracker with 4wd before we were rv'ing..wish I kept it....

I would have never tought you had to put the trany in Park! Thanks for the info. I love this small car, and I could use it to go in the dunes like a side by side but for a fraction of the price.

you put the transmission in Park and the transfer case in Neutral - (it's outlined more fully in the manual, but that's in the car)

Yes, I heard they rust pretty good if not taken care off. I tought an automatic could not be towed 4 down? How do you do it, do you put it in neutral? Does it have kind of a transfer case to put the 4x4 in neutral?

We ended up with a 96 Suzuki X90 - it's an automatic 4x4 so it can be towed 4 down no problem. Check the undercarriage carefully for rust. We bought what we thought was a solid car only to discover that the two rear cross members and the bumper rebar were pretty much toast. Had to reinforce the cross members and replace the rebar, along with a whole list of mechanical. Put more into it than I had intended but they are rare as hen's teeth. Now that it's all done and fully drivable, it's a blast to scoot around in. The only thing left to do is the tow hook-up on the front.

I am looking for one too. Anybody know if an automatic can be towed 4 down or maybe a manual one?

Been towing a Suzuki XL7 since 2004, great vehicle zero problems, very dependable.
