Exactly what were the longer rods and who did you order them from? How much lower is the new lower hold point compared to the original lower hold point?
My compartment doors will hit the slideout if they go above 90 degrees so I'll have to notch them about 1/8 inch to allow them to clear. That's just poor engineering!
My previous Newmar Dutch Star pusher had two stage struts for the doors that were under the slideouts. Normal operation allowed the doors to only open to 90 degrees when the slide was out. When the slide was in the door could be opened fully by slipping the rod attachment point up.
