Just found out that I have to stay in Ohio until Nov, I am going to get cold. Never had to stay in a cold area in a RV before. Has anyone out there stayed in their P/A when it can get to 30 to 20 degrees? Is there some areas in the P/A that I must watch out for freezing the water pipes? I have a extend-A-stay ordered so I can use outside propane tanks to keep the furnaces running and not have to move to get propane tanks filled.
I noticed that the rear bedroom furnace has a heater pipe to the basement, but it is in the very rear of the basement and I am concern about the fresh water tank, water pump and pipes up to the front of the basement.
Paul:
We live in the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio area and have delayed winterizing our P/A into November by just running the furnaces and keeping the coach at 50 degrees to protect the water lines it the temps dip near the freezing mark around here during the night. If you are in southern Ohio during November you should be OK just running your furnaces but if you are in Northern Ohio near Cleveland and Toledo you would be best advised to winterize your waterlines and not take any chances. Southern Ohio rarely gets snow during November. Occasionally there is a freak flurry but we usually get well into December before we see our first snow of the season here. The worst part of our winter usually is delayed until February. Hope this helps.

That price must be wrong. The last time I replaced the skylights on my PA, they were over $100 each.
No, he's not wrong. We paid 29.82 + tax + s/h, and our dealer ordered them directly from Fleetwood. Then we paid the dealer to install ours @ $90.00 hr. + sealant. So after installation total was $130.00. Yours probably included installation. - saberExplorerNope. Here is the info from the invoice. Quantity: 2; Part Number: FW/405528; Desc: Skylight, Dome Ext 14 x 22 Wht; Price: 29.35; Disc: 10%; Amount: 52.65. Shipping for the order, which included some other parts, was 0.00. There was, of course, sales tax.
- Fyr_guyExplorerRich.... shhhh! I liked the price he gave. I hope he's correct.

- saberExplorerI two skylight covers from Lazydays in Seffner, FL in Oct 07 for 29.25 each plus tax and shipping. Took about an hour each to get the old off, install new and recaulk.
- Fyr_guyExplorerWhat did it cost to replace the skylights?
- saberExplorerI replaced both skylight covers in Oct 07 on our MH that we picked up in JUl 05. Our MH has spent time in the sun in 29 Palms, CA and in FL. I looked the other day and the skylights, which are now a year old, are not cracked, but seem to be getting very opaque--much more then usual. Spent last winter in OR and the summer in MT. Now in FL and will probably replace again before we set out in Feb.
- dkingdoeExplorerSUBJECT: SKYLIGHT REPLACEMENT
I don’t know how many or if any of you have replaced your outer skylights since you have owned your MHs, but we’ve had our MH since 6/05 and have replaced the skylight over the kitchen once and the skylight over the shower twice, because they became brittle and cracked and started leaking. I just got back from having one replaced and complained to the dealer that the skylights should last longer than 18-24 months. Something is wrong somewhere if we are going to have to replace them every two years. I was told they had received a letter from Fleetwood that upon the sale of ‘new’ MHs to check skylights for cracks due to sitting in the sun for long periods of time and becoming brittle, and to replace them before owners take possession, and current owners need to be aware that this may happen.
Now, I have to replace the inside portion of the skylight as well, because when they removed the outside portion, the suction between the two caused the inside portion to crack and break, and pieces broke out.
When I had one replaced this week I asked to have the old one back because I’m going to send it back to Fleetwood along with a letter and copies of the bills showing where we’ve had them replaced several times. I’m going to tell them they need to either find another supplier or manufacturer that can produce something that’s going to last longer. Our previous MH (a ’95 Fleetwood Coronado) had a skylight and we only had it replaced because it was 10 years old and we were selling it and wanted to make the top look good. So what’s the difference now!!
I may not see anything out of this but I’m going to put my two cents in.
Just sharing my problem!! - bricotExplorerWe winter camp at least once a month, haven't had a problem. Usually I use ceramic heaters to heat the inside when it is above freezing outside, but if its getting close to freezing I make sure and use the furnace so the compartments get heat.
