To those of you who have the maps indicating which states that you have camped in:
Where did you download these maps? I can't bring myself to put one on our PA since I can't justify that it is a fun thing for the kids to do while on vacation. I'm sure I had as much fun adding each new state as the kids did .... but our kids are in their 20s now. Where can I get one of these maps to add to my profile or signature?

I bought one of the maps at Camping World that you can put on your motorhome, but I'm like you I couldn't bring myself to put one on my PA. So I stole my idea from another RV owner...as we pulled into a campground spot this guy as he was setting up. He had purchased a piece of Plexiglas and mounted the map on it and then put suction cups on each corner so that he could put it anywhere on his RV and remove it for travel. He fixed the suction cups so that he could put his map on the outside, but I fixed my suction cups so that I can put my map on the window inside next to the entry door. So it's your choice...inside or outside. - runagroundExplorerMeme don't know how to post link. do a search for Add a Visited States Map to your signature in general Rving. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/16809248.cfm

Meme - ParrotguyExplorerStruts on Compartment Doors
I hated the bending over I had to do to get in my compartments. I got the name of the strut supplier Fleetwood uses from the dealer. I took measurements and then called them, as I recall somewhere in the mid-west. There were great. I ordered about 20 struts and the prices were unbelievably cheap - like $7 each. When I installed them I realized if you go too long, the collapsed length is too long to allow the door to close. In those cases I solved the problem by relocating the strut brackets mounted on the sides of the compartment. Easy, mark the spot, drill undersized holes, use power drill to re-sink sheet metal screws. The length is measured with the shock pushed out. The amount of force it exerts is measured in pounds and corresponds to the diameter. Use the same weight as on the door you're replacing. I was very happy with the results. Be careful not to let the door become damaged from the slideout, furnace vent, or hot water vent.
Hope this helps. - seatecExplorer

Thanx again for all the helpfull hints. i for instance wouldve never thought about winterizing the washer dryer.
Just out of curiosity. i live in Maryland so it can get under 30 and soemtimes 20 deg. would it be very costly to just keep the heat running and if so what would anyone reccomend to keep the thermostat at? i am pretty sure the coach has heated underside eg holding tanks or is this just a stupid idea to begin with? I would like to keep using the MoHo throught the winter.

Here in the Southwestern desert it gets into the teens occasionally and below freezing many times during our winter and I've been turning on the coach heater in the front only and set at it's lowest setting 55 degrees I think. We use our MH all year long so we need to have it ready to go when we are. It's worked for us for 2 years now and the cost of propane was worth the availability of the MH.
Fry,
SO running the Front heater at 55 will prevent any lines from freezing up anywhere in the coach? Doesa this also take care of your water heater and such? That would be great because i really dont want to winterize so we can keep using the coach year round. Wonder how much propane i would use for a Mid Atlantinc winter?
THanx for your inof Fry - wa0mqeExplorerYes 'Mel' the oil filter is still the same. You might want to check with NAPA. They carry WIX Brand Oil Filters. WIX is actually the brand that came on my motorhome. AC Delco of course is a GM product, which GM of course manufactures the 8.1 engine.
I actually purchase mine from WIX directly, over the internet. They are a high quality product used by large fleets. As I mentioned above, NAPA's filters are made by WIX, although they have NAPA labeled on them. Prices are real good also, less then most of the discount auto supply stores. They usually require you to buy more then one though. I usually order three or four. They also have the Allison Tranny filters.
The WIX 1-quart filter is # 51060. It's the same as the AC Delco PF1218 I mentioned. Or you can use the 1/2 quarts that usually came stock on this engine. - Bird_FreakExplorer IIFYR GUY
I just raised the lower strut mount and used the same struts. - Jim_BakkerExplorer

I had a water leak from the connection between the plastic line (in the wall behind the shower enclosure) and the flex line leading to the shower head. The technician who fixed it said the connection loosened because Fleetwood installed the wrong fitting; should have been a tapered pipe thread, rather than the non-tapered thread originally installed. - bricotExplorer

Anyone had problems with leaks after having their awning replaced?
bricot, are you talking about the awning you had replaced on your kitchen slide out? I haven't had any problem with my replacement but have not been in any heavy rains since. I don't see how that could cause water where your having the leaks??? Wierd. Keep us updated.
Thanks,
Pat
The big awning (Dometic) that was replaced do to the fact they installed the wrong material (too short) from the factory.
It wierd, I noticed another leak in between the shower and kitchen pantry wall, had to remove the panel so I could see under the shower, it was coming down inside that wall as well. - Papa_MelExplorerMy bad...typo for the Pace Arrow. I own a 2004, 37C, not a 2001. Is the oil filter the same?
