- saberExplorerFry guy,
The multi switch is a three position switch that in our coach is just to the right of the off-on-search switch. It switches the sat among the 101, 110, 119 sats. There is a picture of it at King Dome under the pull down for accessories for stationary systems. Under the pull down for in motion systems, there is a picture for the HD conversion switch. I haven,t been able to find a picture for the 9704 HD conversion switch for the stationary. I am drawing the conclusion that technology is racing ahead so fast that everyone, including the manufacturers of the equipment can't keep up. Have you seen the Directv Sat-to-Go briefcase setup? Due out in April at around $1100. - Fyr_guyExplorerSaber, not sure what a King Dome multi switch is? I have the on/off switch that starts the dome searching for the satellite, is this what you mean?
When I use the tripod with triple LNB I need to go through the guided set up in Directv's set up menu and I have to manually change from single LNB to triple and adjust the tripod to the appropriate settings in order to get the HD signals. It's quick and easy and I do it as the bride put the rugs on the floor and such. The reason I chose the Tivo model is obvious, we always have movies or shows recorded to watch at our convienience.
I will go to the King Controls site to see what they offer but as I stated before, I'll bet anything my S/N is lower than 9143. - saberExplorerFyr Guy, Do you have the King Dome Multi-switch installed in your coach. If so, what happens when you switch to the 110 sat? Do you receive a HD signal or do you get a message about a switch? I am finishing up the HD install on our coach this week with the HD20 rcvr.

r coach - Fyr_guyExplorerHi Gary, I get the HiDef with a triple LNB on a tripod in order to get all 3 sats:101, 110 and 119 I believe the HiDef programming is on sats 110 & 119 but not sure. I use a Directv HR10-250 with Tivo that I got from home when I upgraded to the HR20-700DVR. I do use my dome as I added an A/B switch from my reciever that allows me to use the dome receiving only sat 101 on "A" and when I stay for a minimum of 2 nights I'll set the tripod for the full HiDef thing "B".
I'm staying connected here at the Admiralty RV resort that has WiFi as that is one of my priority's when looking for a campground when we're on the road. Have to stay connected! Trying to decide wether to go east into New Awlins or south to Corpus Christi (Padre Island), decisions, decisions!
Have not heard of the upgrade to our existing Kingdome? If they do offer it, rest assured the upgrade will only be for those with a serial number lower than mine and I'll be out of luck! - ParrotguyExplorerHi Sandy,
Thanks for posting the pictures and giving us the help on the install!
If I remember you get High Def by putting up a dish on a tripod, yes? Do you not use the dish on the roof at all? Did you buy a high def Sat box from Directv? Have you heard anything about this kit to convert our roofmounted dish to high def?
Are you in a campground with a wifi network to access this forum?
Gary - Fyr_guyExplorerGary, Congratulations! I'm sitting here in San Antonio, TX enjoying HiDef football. I know there are others that are contemplating this project, don't be afraid, if I can do it, anyone can!

- ParrotguyExplorerI got my 32" LG HDTV in yesterday with the help of my son. We got rid of the VCR, moved the sat. box to the right side, connected the sat box to the TV with s-video, connected the DVD to the TV with component video plus twin leads for the audio. We kept the coax from the junction box to the TV for the roof ant. So I won't use the junction box to watch the sat. This eliminated the extra steps you had to go through to play the TV sound through the home theater system using the VCR. We put in a wood brace for the back of the TV like Fyr Guy using two brackets. It was hard to get the depth right since there's no access with the TV in. We had to remove the side trim pieces to get the TV in. We added a slab of 1/2" plywood under the set and put some of the cherry trim on top, to lift it up into the middle of the trim frame. We used the brackets off the old TV to secure the bottom. We also. had to relocate the brackets on the frame. It took about 2 & 1/2 hours. Really looks and sounds great. (last year I upgraded all the speakers in the home audio system except the subwoofer)Hats off to Fyr Guy for paving the way!!
- saberExplorerThe wires are not switched --continously hot-- and we also have the lights over the driver & passenger seats. I am going to remove the driver's panel tomorrow and see what is in that side. Going to work my thinker's cap before I close them up to see if a clever use pops into my mind--like power for a sideview camera, steerable flood for the roof, etc. Haven't come up with one yet worth the time or money. I am also putting more insulation in the areas since I have them open.
- dcbrewerExplorerMaybe for outside light, is there a switch that will turn off power to wire's. could be for inside light over side window if there is not one, our pace has a light in that area with push button switch.
