- ParrotguyExplorerI had a 22.5" unmounted tire mounted between the frame rails at the rearmost point of the chassis on my 36D Workhorse W24. There is not enough room to mount a mounted tire. This way I will at least have a proper size tire with me to mount. The dealer put in a crossbar with a thumbscrew to hold it up.
- dcbrewerExplorerThere must be more room on 37c , I see no way to get spare thru rear panel on 36D with 22.5 tires.
- Paul_TurpinExplorerYes, I have the spare tire in the rear on the rails. Take the rear panel off and the spare tire will slide right in (on the 2004 37C.)
- saberExplorerWorkhorse found a wheel with tire mounted and balanced at one of their wharehouses in Chicaco. So, on the way and should be here Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Cedric, an absolutely super Workhorse service rep has done a great job of getting this all resolved. He mentioned that he has seen spares stored in the rear behind the access panel. Evidently you can slide the spare in between the rails. He wasn't sure if it was a 37C he saw the setup. Haven't explored it yet.
Have you had any problems with the black paint/film or whatever coming off of teh awning covder? I noticed today for the first time that there are a couple of places where it is starting to peel.
As another aside, looked at two other 37Cs in for service. I realize that they make a lot of these but I am beginning to believe that no two are made the same even from the same factory. All three of us have the entertainment system wired differently. Two of us do not have a sat lead to the rear TV and on one you have to move the sat receiver to the right compartment to get a signal from a portable dish. There is no feed to the left compartment. Learn something everyday. I am about ready to get rid of that 70lb boat anchor of a TV in the front, do some rewiring, and put in a LCD widesceen. - dcbrewerExplorerI made a mount with hoist from 3500 series truck, installed under rear behind gas tank. The tire hangs about 3 inchs below drags on hitch, so removed it and haveit in back of toad, still looking for a place.
- saberExplorerThe subject of replacing the tire hasn't come up--yet. The tire doesn't seem to be damaged as we didn't drive on it while it was low on pressure. Part of the problem, as I understand it, is that these wheels are made in Brazil and everything is "just in time" inventory to the production line. I also found out that some Workhorse W-24s are sent to the Fleetwood line with 7 wheels/tires. Wonder where these end up. Workhorse reason for no spare inventory is that this "rarely" happens. How/where did you mount your spare?
- dcbrewerExplorerSaber, We had same problem on 06 Pace Arrow, it was on rear inside tire. It took dealer 4 weeks to get wheel, and about 6 weeks for Me to get one for spare, had to make it. Did they change your tire also?
- saberExplorerHere are a couple for you: Our 37C is in at a Workhorse facility for a left front tire that developed a leak The leak is in the wheel in the welded seam between the center hub section and the outer wheel. About 8 inches in one section and about 2 inches in the adjacent one area. Cover by warranty but----no wheels available. None in stock anywhere or at the Workhorse line. Backordered and maybe the end of August or early Sept. Workhorse and Fleetwood are working the problem and may end up pulling one off of a coach at a dealer or from the Fleetwod line. Tiffin RV in Alabama is a possible too. So, if anyone is thinking about a mounted spare, there is some lead time involved. Let you know what develops.
Secondly, in the spare time waiting for a source on the wheel, we fiddled with the instrument panel dimmer swith (wheel) and it does dim the panel light now. The dimming range is not as broad as one would suspect but it is noticeable. - bricotExplorer

Just returned to the US after an extended trip (not with our 37C) and took it out for a short weekend trip. I was wondering if anyone has had any steering modifications made to their 37s. Overall I am satisfied with the RV and I believe that the W24 is the best part of the setup. But the steering is a little loose for my preference. Any recommendations for steering mods?
I really like the difference that the front/rear trac bars made and the safe T Plus steering stabilizer made in the handling. Some would suggest the Davis Tru-Trac over the Safety Plus, but I have no complaints. - seatecExplorerwoohoo my first real informative and helpfull post.
