I'm stunned by the lack of cargo capacity for the Jayco Melbourne Prestige 24LP.
That's what happens with slides and being built on the Mercedes chassis. That chassis is being pushed too close to it's weight limit when a Class C built on it has extensive slides.
If you want slides and plenty of cargo capacity to boot, you have to both 1) stay short on length, plus 2) have it built on the Ford E450 chassis or Chevy 4500 chassis.
For example, you might want to consider a Minnie Winnie 22M (no slides), 22R (no slides), 25B (no slides), or 26A (slides) - on only the Ford E450 chassis (not the E350 chassis). The E450 is optional under the 22M, 22R, and 25B models, and standard under the 26A model.
For what it's worth, we have a 24 foot non-slide Class C on the E450 chassis and we can load it up with no concerns about weight. i.e. We sometimes travel with a load of rocks (we're rockhounds), with various liquid levels in the grey water and black water tanks, and with a full fresh water tank ... plus loaded to the hilt with our usual equipment filling every storage area. The handling on the road is not effected one way or the other.
