A previous poster suggested going to a RV show. I second this advice if you are not familiar with RVs, their equipment, and how things work. It looks like you are from Maryland. If that is the case, you might want to consider spending a few days at the RV show in Hershey PA in mid-September. It is self-billed as the largest RV show in the country. We went several times before our purchase and it was worth the time and money we spent. We determined what we liked and didn't like without much in the way of sales pressure.
An important point to remember with any purchase. Motorhome chassis all have a maximum amount of weight they can safely carry. Exceeding that weight can cause the tires, axles, suspension parts, and other components to fail. For example, the newer Ford E450 chassis has a maximum (GVWR) of 14500 pounds. Generally speaking the following applies: 1. the longer the Class C, the heavier it weighs 2. slideouts add to the weight 3. electric or hydraulic leveling systems add to the weight 4. dealer or owner installed options add to the weight. These factors decrease the amount (weight) of people and stuff you can carry. Remember, it is not "how much room you have for stuff", but rather "how much additional weight for stuff you can carry".
Best wishes for finding your RV.
