- sullivanclanExplorerNew or used?
We have a 2004 Jayco 25 DS Greyhawk that we are pleased with. I specifically looked for a unit without a dinette table as they are only used for eating, and are typically uncomfortable. Our 25ft Jayco has a nice size sofa and easy chair set up. - John_S_Explorer III had a 24 foot Born Free for years and loved it. Yes it will fit in parking lots but then again I fit my 42 foot Foretravel in the same ones. I sold both and ordered the 26 foot version of Born Free but on the Fodge 5500 so I am a couple feet longer. It will be a beast and much easier to drive.
- yankeewingExplorerI had a Winnebago 24' rear corner bed. Nice for parking lots and still had room in living area. Just moved up to a 2005 Winnebago 29' and love the slide out rear bed. So much nicer than getting out of the old corner bed. Also new rv has slideout sofa in front.
The extra 5 feet is not that much difference, but would not want anything longer. - Dusty_RExplorerI always figured that if you are able and willing to climb up into the crows nest, bed above the cab, then a bed down is wasted floor space.
We had an Itasca Spirt 24V for 13 years. It had the dinette in the rear. We got older and it became too much to climb into the crows nest. We now have an Itasca Spirt 27Q. The shower seems a bit tighter in this one, and it's a bit tight around the rear Queen bed.
The outside storage is very nice.
Dusty - Nvr_lostExplorerI have had two Winnebago products and I am very happy with both. Very good/tight units and well thought out. They also manufacture their own materials so you can always get parts. I had the corner of a couch material split because someone used it as a foot stool to get to a cabinet. They sent the replacement material and the dealer reinstalled it under warranty with no questions asked.
- BordercollieExplorerDrive and simulate living in 22-27 footers. We owned a 23 footer and eventually bought a Tioga 26Q model ( 27 foot bumper to bumper) We didn't like lack of storage and cabinet space and less comfortable sleeping acccomodations in the shorter rig. Climbing out of the overhead bed without waking your partner is hard to do and can be somewhat painful. 27 footers fit in majority of campsites and are seldom a problem to park in restaurant parking lots, malls and tourist attractions. That said, some like 'em short, just don't be intimidated by slightly longer rigs.
- LumptyExplorerPerfectly happy with the compromise of a no-slide 24' Sunseeker on a Ford E450 going on 6 years and 45k miles. It has a decent list of materials in the house structure (aluminum frame, Azdel composite in the laminated walls instead of luan and a fiberglass roof. We deal just fine with the corner bed. It can and has been parked frequently in regular parking spaces, just via backing in and overhanging the curb, also folding the mirrors in. I've even left it in long-term parking at three airports.

Don't know why you are stuck on 24 footers, 27 footers drive/maneuver almost the same and most have rear bedrooms with rv queen beds some with access on both sides. Most 24 footers are as tall and wide as longer rigs.
Sleeping comfort and adequate storage and cabinet space are important.
To each his own of course, but I would add have had our 24ft, 12 years and 65k miles and have no desire to trade up.
If one can live, without a rear bed, a 24 ft with no fixed bed is roomer inside, than a 27 with a bed, as that fixed bed takes a lot of space. I like a slide as well.
And two, you can park a 24 in a lot more places that a 27, like restaurants, stores, attractions. That extra 3 feet is going to hang out into the driving areas. Will a 24 will not.
Just my opinion, and what we prefer. - jimmer_ExplorerWinebego are generally considered to be well made and reliable.
Up until about 2012 they made the Aspect 26A model that was 26.5 feet long. Rear bed and bath. Subsidiary Itasca made a similar unit also, called the Cambria 26A, also discontinued at the same time. Can find many exmples for sale on the web. Both had 1 slide. - Komfort_23TSExplorerThanks again for the replies I am thinking of a Winnebago about 27 foot. Are they good?
