LOTS of snowbird parks in the area. Phoenix, Mesa and Apache Junction. However, snowbird parks don't allow "campground fires". But most have lots of activities (dances, pools, etc.,etc.) to occupy your time...plus the many attractions in the area. The State Park in question might allow campfires. Don't know. AND....as mentioned above: Tortilla Flats. Not to be missed! Great music and good food. Fun place. And....if you don't mind getting your car filthy with dust, drive out of Tortilla Flats and go to the dam...at the end of the road. (Then pickup the highway back to Rte 60.) Beautiful scenery.
