Lost reverse for a moment, F53 -V 10 5 speed
I lost reverse backing into a tight camping site. Backed in very slow as much as I could, pulled up to go strait back and no reverse. It would go into "R" but would not go back or rev up on gas pedd...

Sounds like the computer and the linkage got out of sync...If you don't have a check engine light, I'd let it go...if it happens again, take note of the situation and get it to a Ford Dealer to see if there are any codes...You may have not been fully in reverse...just a guess but as long as it's OK now.
This would be my suspicion too. If the shift indicator and the range sensor on the transmission don't agree, it defaults to N. It's not common, but sometimes you hit just the wrong spot and that can happen.
