Noise is like a water leak in that it is hard to pin down the source.
Your mention of your issue being related to acceleration leads me to higher boost levels and that leads me to a turbo boost leak possibility.
It's worth checking as the sound can travel thru the coach and reflect back from the windshield.
Another thought is the genset. Are you running it as you travel down the road? It is right under your feet after all.
