Our unit only has one rooftop air so it’s probably not as noticeable but friends of ours just got a unit with 2 AC’s. I think they are dometic, but the one in the bedroom sounds like a helicopter is landing on the roof. Never heard such a noisy AC on a brand new MH. Not only that it does not circulate the air through the vents very well. So just for giggles at the Hershey show I was playing with a few of the bedroom ACs on various units. And they are all LOUD too. What gives? And I think both brands are equally to blame (dometic and Coleman Mach) . Anyone else notice?

The Colman 15k on my new fiver is also louder than any of the previous five I have owned. I am considering removing the top shroud and seeing if the fan is out of balance or bees nest. It is obnoxiously loud to camping neighbors.

They sound louder in a confined area such as a bedroom. Many people complain the new environmentally friendly units are much nosier than the old Freon units.

Dometic reportedly has some type of fibration kits for the newer ac's. I would imagine coleman might have the same.

We chill the bedroom before bed and then run only the lr air overnight. Since they use a common duct in the Tiffin line we are plenty comfortable and don't need the br air to disturb us overnight.

We have 2 coleman mach units on our Jayco and with the fan speed set on low the units are not that loud compared to the dometic units we had on the Coachmen we used to have.

The a/c is sitting on a 4" thick roof. They are all loud. Fleetwood puts both units over the living section and not the bedroom for just that reason. When we go to bed, we just close the bedroom door to keep the noise out. My old Newmar had ducted supply and return air and that worked pretty well to keep things quiet too.

Check out a Newmar for the quietest AC I have ever heard, and it is hard to hear it.

We just set the bedroom AC 1 degree warmer on the themostat than the front AC. In cooler temps, we similarly set the bedroom 1 degree cooler. As such the front AC/HP does the majority of the cooling-heating for us so we don't have to listen to it as much.

Not sure what brand I have on my coach, but they are the low profile with air and heat pumps on them. But on our coach you can have direct down draft or you can close the vents and duct the air making it real quit. You can barely hear the air conditioners when running.

But I have noticed on some of the new models the shrouds on the air conditioners are huge and really stick up like a sore thumb. Not sure why they are installing such a high air conditioners.
