Low gear appears to be gone..
94 Brave 27RC with 454 chevy engine apparently has lost the low gear. 110,000 total miles. I can still drive but nervous about moving it unless absolutely necessary. I live in Florida where it is real...

Here's the sequence of problems.
1. I have owned the RV since March 2014 and the transmission worked fine up until recently.
2. The "Service Engine Soon" light comes on occasionally then goes out.
3. I have only driven the unit less than 1000 miles since buying it.
4. A month ago the low gear did not work but the unit did start out in second gear fine.
5. on 1/28/16 I drove it and when I started the motor the "Service Engine Light" came on when I started the unit but went out after a bit.
6. The low gear worked fine.
7. The transmission fluid is topped off and is still clear.
It makes sense that some form of electrical issue is the root of the problem.
When low is not working you can select low or not, it does not shift into low regardless of shift selector position.
