94 Brave 27RC with 454 chevy engine apparently has lost the low gear. 110,000 total miles. I can still drive but nervous about moving it unless absolutely necessary. I live in Florida where it is really flat but any experience others have had will be welcome.. Thanks

When was the last time the transmission was serviced?

Don't know. I haven't driven it much since I bought it March 2014. I was planning on having it serviced. The local transmission guy wants to simply drain it and put in new filter and gasket for around $140.00

If you actually tried to shift it in to "Low" and the vehicle did not move, it could be something as simple as the linkage out of adjustment, or worn. If you have it in Drive, and it seems to start off in second gear, then a complete transmission flush MAY clean out some debris that is not allowing it to shift down to low. A complete drain, filter change, and gasket for $140 sounds like a pretty decent price. If he could do a complete flush that would be better since a drain will still leave a lot of fluid in the converter.

It drives but starts in 2nd. When it comes to a stop it does not go into low gear.
