As always, you will spend more time parked and enjoying the interior of your coach than driving it. The older any coach is, the more chance there is for anything to break, such as roof top AC units, water heaters, etc. Also the furniture in the older unit may come complete with all of the past odors. Personally I would consider all old furniture and mattresses, junk and in need of replacement before I would let my family stay in it. The age and mileage also factors in to such items as radiators that rot out in Northern climates as well as rust, worn suspension components, etc. Chassis repairs on any DP is going to be more costly than the gas powered coach.
Find the floor plan that works and go with the newest coach you can afford. Don't worry about the power plant. As all of us that have been RVing for years know, either engine will get us over the mountain and to the camping area. The RV lifestyle begins when you are parked.
