Low volume Class C manufacturers

On a brand specific forum, a person with access to the data posted that in 2015, these brands had the following retail unit sales:

Lazy Daze 9 units (22 in 2014)
Born Free 16
Phoenix Cruiser 55

I had never thought about it enough to even guess the numbers. But I sure would not have guessed that low. Wow. Especially the first two.

  • Lazy Daze 9 units (22 in 2014).

It's true that Lazy Daze is not a high-volume producer - rigs are ordered factory-direct, and there's currently about a year wait - but a call to the LD factory would clarify what seems to me to be a very low number for rigs delivered in 2015.
  • I'm actually surprised by that. How can a RV maker stay in business from nine units? Lazy Daze units may not have slide-outs, but they do well with making use of the enclosed space, and also have a lot of windows.

There is also Nexus RV and Coach House. Coach House is expensive because of their one piece construction (best resistance to leaks next to a class "B"), but Nexus RV seems to have a very good price/quality ("bang for buck") going for it.
