- mfox20ExplorerI've stayed at Campfire Lodgings the past 4 years in August. Nice campground on top of the mountain (small mountain) with great views. A lot of reviewers don't like the road up but I had no issues with my 36 ft gasser pulling a 12 ft cargo trailer.
- hawkhillExplorerWe have stayed at Mama Gerties in the past and were fortunate enough to stay up on the top tier. It was a little daunting Florida flatlanders to drive our fifth wheel up the steep incline to the top, but it was totally manageable and well worth the view. The management at Mama Gerties was great to deal with and the park was immaculately kept. We did check out Bear Creek while we were there, but we did not like how close it was to the road. Other than that, it was nicely maintained. We did not have the opportunity to check out Campfire Lodgings. We originally tried to get reservations there, but their sites with a view (P1-P5??) were already booked, so we went to Mama Gerties instead. We would go back to Mamas again.
- k9dadExplorerHad a very bad experience at Bear Creek. Class "A" sites were right on the road at the bottom of a dangerous curve. Not really in the "park". Ratings for this place are a joke. I give it about a "5" and we have RV'ed all around this country. Also owner was very nasty.Wrote to "Marcus"/Good Sam and got nothing but defensive comments about the rating procedure. Have had friends stay at Campfire Lodgings and rave about the park but, space is limited there. Never have been to Mama Gerties. If you decide to go to Mama Gerties please report back to this forum.
