Hand manual awnings on many older units and though I'd like the electric on an 08 Jayco. It was easy to deploy but when a gust, not strong, of wind folded it up over the roof I started to tie it down. This one did not tilt for water.
From that point on we needed to tie it down or take it in in wind or rain. Sort of defeats the purpose of an awning.
Now I am back to a manual awning and find it much easier to use, sturdier than the electric and adjustable in tight spaces or windy situations.
I'd stay manual if I had the choice.
