- VA-ApraisrExplorer IIGo to Amazon.com and look for DynastyMattress! The reviews are almost 5-stars throughout and I purchased one for my Class C and it is simply HEAVEN! Added about 2" to the length which is good for a 6-foot guy and sleeps as well as my $2500 mattress at home. Cost around $300 but worth every penny! Firm yet memory foam feel.........you will be glad you ordered it.
- Sprink-FitterExplorerMypillow mattress topper.
- HealeymanExplorerLong ago we gave away the mattress that came with the new RV, then went to Walmart and bought a Queen size tufted (not the long ribs) air mattress and a 2" memory foam topper.
We can easily adjust the firmness to our liking.
In the colder months, we use an electric mattress pad under us rather than an electric blanket over us. It helps keep the cold weather kinks out of our backs.
Tim - KittykathExplorer IIA Serta 3" memory foam topper seems just right comfort-wise and for using standard sheet sizes.
- IAMICHABODExplorer IIMy RV came with a brand new mattress, still wrapped from Mfg. but it was really hard and I looked at getting another one but instead went with a Foam Topper
It made all the difference in the world,it is the best sleep I have had away from home.It doesn't make you hot like some I have slept on,it breathes really well. Cheaper than a new mattress and no trying to get that old one out and a new one in. - RoyFExplorerWe use a Cuddledown Memory Foam Egg Crate Topper 2.5" pad, and my wife (who has back trouble) and I both really like it.
- coolmom42Explorer II2 inches is adequate.
- MobileBassetExplorerA 2 inch topper works very well for me. I wanted to take the edge off a too-hard foam mattress that came with the new RV.
- DrewEExplorer III have a 2" (I think--maybe 3") memory foam topper from Big Lots, trimmed to fit the shorter RV mattress. It works well and is a tremendous improvement in comfort and was reasonably priced.
Memory foam can be cut very easily with an electric carving knife (think turkey) and only slightly less so with a serrated bread knife (which is what I used). Do let it air out for a good long time in a very well ventilated place or out-of-doors before sleeping on it; they tend to emit very annoying fumes when brand new. - stripitExplorerWe are about ready to toss the Serta that was in our unit and buy a new one from Bed in a Box. Have put that companies mattresses in our homes and rv's, like them and like they ship them right to us.
