Wondering about the road to McDonald Observatory. Is SR 118 RV friendly? Will be coming from I-10 and don't know if we should come in on SR 17 leaving the motorhome in Ft. Davis or just come in on SR ...

Once you leave I-10 heading south you'll be going up hills. Got to remember that McDonald on top off a mountain. And if you should go down the other side toward Fort Davis you'll come across Fort Davis State Park. If I remember right it's the only state park with TV Cable. If there's more I haven't found um.
