ULSD not > 5% bio. BAD EXPENSIVE DAMAGE TO EVERYTHING in injection system, fuel tank, exhaust, intake, and oiled bits in engine if you regularly exceed that. That said. Its likely OK from time to time as you need to. Example: Love's ULSD is labeled > 5%. A tank of that followed by Regular ULSD would likely be OK.
You would think we would see damaged diesel vehicles all over the road sides here in IL! :) Or at least have heard about them. I did have second hand knowledge of Chevy Durmaxes having problems with biodiesel about 10+ years ago. Nothing since.
Most biodiesel is 11% bio. When you see the decal saying between 5 and 20%, assume 11%. That's the sweet spot of the tax breaks for it.
