I've been looking at a different breaking system for my toad ('03 Jeep GC Overland) and find the M@G system interesting.I currently have a Ready Break which is fine but the extra length and weight is becoming an annoyance.The M@G seems to be the least invasive and the MH is already equipped with an air outlet for a breaking system. I do not want anything that requires an extra piece of hardware attached/removed each time I tow. Just an air line attachment seems like the way to go which was an appealing virtue of the Ready Beak....attach cable and leave.I would be very interested in hearing comments about the M@G system including installation, operation, ease of use, and etc.thanks for any input.

I use a M&G aux brake system with a breakaway on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and find it to be the very best system on the market. Easy to install. Just hook up airline and breakaway cable, click click.Bill

Dick,We had the M&G system on our 2007 Honda CR-V and it worked flawlessly. When it was time to equip the new 2013 Honda CR-V, the M&G system didn't fit as well because the engine compartment had been redesigned. So, we installed the SMI Air Force One vacuum-assisted braking system which is very similar to the M&G.I think the difference is that they cut into the firewall to attach a bracket that pulls the brake pedal down. Works perfectly.The M&G could have been installed on the 2013 but the installer said because of the difference, it would take 8 hours labor vs. the 2-3 hr. labor of the SMI.Both work off the air system from the coach.Good luck,MM.

We have it. I installed on subie outback. Least hassle of any brake system. We have the break away tank, and you might consider for legal purposes. Simple but elegant design.

I had the M&G on a 2008 Saturn and just had it installed on my new 2014 Buick Enclave. Check to see that it is available for your toad. I bought a new model for the Enclave.

It also is a good idea to use an experienced installer -- a list is on the M&G site. The connection is very easy. I also use a Demco baseplate and Aluminator tow bar. The installer placed a plate under my license plate for the connections. With that plate and the Demco plastic covers for the connectors, the setup is not visible -- perhaps not important for some but a nice feature on this SUV. I also had the breakaway installed.

I think the M&G unit is the best of it's type, "IF" you have room for the unit. The M&G unit bolts between the master cylinder power booster and the master cylinder. Some cars just don't have the room to move the master cylinder.

My vehicle didn't have room and I went with the SMI Air Force One. I believe the M&G unit has an air lockout, just like the SMI if the unit detaches.

M&G unit is a good unit, but I don't think it is isolates the MH air brake system. My understanding that if the car departed from the MH (air line from coach to car severed) there will be an air leak in the MH brake system. Air Force One put a module in line that isolates the MH brake system, if the car departs the MH brakes are not affected.

bluwtr, if you don't mind cutting the top inside of fender to make clearence for the M&G unit, am certain it would work just fine, but am not willing to cut up or cut outs an area for clearence. very simple if you would just look at it. in other words it don't fit every vehicle. happy for the folks who use it.

I was looking at the AF 1 as well as the M&G for my 06 Wrangler. I chose the M&G to save the installation costs. My MH was already set up with an airline and wasn't sure if that line would be compatible with the AF unit. Either unit would be fine. However, I would caution you about the installation process. On my install you have to pull the master cylinder away from the booster to insert the MG unit. There are two push rod adjustments that are needed and if done incorrectly you will have problems. If your not comfortable with that type of work then be sure to factor in installation costs. What may be easy for some can be a nightmare for others.

I installed my M&G brake system on two different trucks myself, not difficult at all. It works flawlessly and is proportional to the braking effort applied to the coach. Hooks up in 5 seconds rain or shine. Highly recommended.

I too looked at M&G and on the Wrangler it was not a problem but on my Overland I dod not have enough room and would have to cut some stuff. I decided to go with Air Force One. It works very well adn no cutting of the inner fender stuff.

I ordered the M&G unit, looks great, problem was in order to install it required destroying the inner fender and the problem with that is what to do when wanting to resell the F150 pickup. So went with the Air Force 1 unit and happy with it after about 35,000 miles, easy hookup etc.

I have used the M & G brake & breakaway system on my wrangler TJ for 8 years now. No problems whatsoever. I had mine installed by dealer. Easy set up, no adjustments, connect air hose, & just tap on brake 2 to 3 times to charge the breakaway. Using the brakes in a panic stop, all 4 wheels will stop. One item that I am glad that I purchased, and didn't squander on. You will not be sorry with the M & G brake system.

I used the system for my with air brakes.
