Here are just a couple of comments and observations from our recent trip.1) Love bugs can cause real damage to a mh front. $2,0002) Gas stations in the Keys are not mh friendly.3) Venture Out in Cudjoe Key is not dog friendly even though they tell you they are.4) The beaches in the Keys stink. All of them! Due to seaweed. Some were even trashed with litter. You pay to enter all of them also.5) Key West is a tourist trap. You pay dearly for a parking spot for your vehicle. 6) Sloppy Joes has the best margaritas.7) Mel Fisher museum and Hemmingway house were great.8) Car manufacturers can save money by eliminating blinkers since very few people use them.9) States should recycle speed limit signs since very few pay any attention to them.10) New Orleans stinks literally! Graphiti everywhere. Everyone after your dollar. Will never go back there!11) Pat Obriens in the Quarter has great Hurricanes.Overall a good 3 week trip but now can say been there done that.

Not so encouraging but a Good Hurricane( drink that is) makes it all better!!????

you need to expand on items 3 and 10. we're planning a quick stop in NOLA to see the WWII museum this winter on our way out west.

I went to the Keys for the LAST time back in the 90's. It was basically the same then.The Hurricane drink at Pat Obrians used to allow you to keep the glass. Some people, me included, find that putting a light coat of Vasaline on the front end of the coach helps. Even then you can't leave the bugs stay on the front end too long. Others have sprayed the front end with the no-stick baking PAM. I have not tried that so can't comment on it's use.

New Orleans is the best spot in the country for many things, cleanliness is not one of them. Enjoying places and people is a matter of perspective. Some ask, "what's the big deal?" when they see the Grand Canyon. Is NYC not worth visiting because its crowded?

“Is NYC not worth visiting because it’s crowded” - Maybe not for being crowded, but just for being NYC.“New Orleans stinks literally” - Have to agree, especially on weekends, and when there’s a festival. Even when no ones there, walking down the street you get a strong smell of stale beer, previously consumed (yet did not set well) beer mixed with shrimp, and worse, urine.

If you went from NO to KW and didn't stop at the National Seashore on Pensacola Beach, you missed it!

Thanks for the update, have not been to either place in a while. First went to the keys in 1955, it was very remote and not many people. went diving there when I got out of the Navy in 1971. Live in Miami for about a year. It was still very nice, acres and acres of stag horn coral very nice. By the 1990's the coral was all brown and dying. Loo Key sanctuary was still nice into the 2000's. I would not go back today. Have not been to NO in 20 years but the few times we went there they used to wash the streets and sidewalks every morning to remove the trash and stuff. I liked Preservation Hall with the 90 year old Jazz musicians . Also liked the craw fish at Lake Pontchatrain. Things change over time but the NP's are still nice except more crowded that 40 years ago.

Was at a wedding across the street, not a good neighborhood, had to call police on a woman sitting on corner screaming as loud as she could, high on something. Wedding was great though, they had their own security.

We've been to New Orleans five times and always had a good time.

We especially enjoy Muffuletta sandwiches at Central Grocery and Beignets across the street.

There are tours of the places where they build and store the floats plus other city tours and a cable car ride.

We always have stayed at the French Quarter Rv Resort. Very nice.

As far as the Keys...went there in 1976 and had a nice time. We went back in 2016 and man oh man what a change. Didn't even stay overnight.

The love bug story reminds me of a time we were driving in MN at dusk and swarms of Mayflies came out. I eventually had to pull over as the windshield was covered and I ran out of washer fluid.

There are only a handful of streets in the U.S. named Malcolm X, and even then, it might not be an actual renaming, or it might be just a short stretch of a street. Like Lenox Avenue in New York City--both "Lenox Avenue" and "Malcolm X Blvd" are officially recognized.

There's a street named after Malcolm X in Lansing, Michigan, which is where he grew up. And Boston, where he moved as a teenager (and it's just a little portion of a street). The only others I know of are in Brooklyn, Dallas, and Washington, D.C.

Same with schools--just a few.

anyone who has recently been to the WWII museum in NOLA...is the neighborhood safe, only safe in daytime or avoid it at all costs? wife walks with a cane so would be dropping her off and then parking somewhere.
