I don't like mice and would have no issues with poison except that other animals eat poisoned mice (since it takes the mice awhile to die, they are also easier to catch). Raptors (birds of prey), coyotes, dog and cats will eat mice. Friends of ours had their dog get into rat poison once and the dog died a terrible death. A 60 lb dog eating one poisoned mouse probably won't die, but it might get sick. A 10 lb dog eating a couple poisoned mice could well die. I suggest caution with poison.
