Just checked up on the MH which is in storage outside in Michigan.Found LOTS of mouse droppings around and walnuts and husks stored in various places. About the size of golf balls. Also found several walnuts in engine compartment. The MH has several,7, traps set with peanut butter and a couple were tripped, but no dead mice. The mice made no attempt to eat the peanut butter on those or any other trap.There is NO food in the MH from me.Also had a mouse problem while traveling, 3 known mice--all deceased.There has to be an awful big hole to get those walnuts in.Thoughts?

A friend of mine had good success with sticky pads (get the larger ones for rats), because they will catch them when they run down the length of a wall, and not just when they are actively looking to grab bait.You might need to get a friend with a bright flashlight to shine around the inside while someone on the other side looks for the light to find the holes.

If it's bringing in nuts it may not be a mouse

Filled any holes I could find under the MH with expanding foam.Closed access from cabinets etc into the body of the MH, and from cabinets to other empty spaces.Closed the space around the power cord.Put mouse traps around with cheddar cheese. I found they ate the PB without tripping the trap.I have heard that mothballs repels mice but I have not tried that.Good luck!!

KCharles--That thought entered my mind. However, the droppings are very small, mouse size.What else could it be? I think I'll set a rat trap. I have at least on at home.

I was planning to look for holes but procrastinated and the temps suddenly plummeted. Didn't expect a problem that the traps wouldn't handle.

Check your generator too!

Cost me $200 to find out from the Mobile RV Repair Guy that the darn mice had filled my filter/carb with corn while parked over the winter. :R

Here's how much corn he pulled out of the gen.

Look inside the air cleaner also. That is a favorite place for them to get into and reek havok here for me in central IL

there is food in the MH- the peanut butter. you need to deter the mice. I have used pure peppermint oil on cotton balls inside the coach and moth balls in the basement and around the tires. I also throw some of the moth balls under the coach. we are plugged in all winter so I have ultra sonics inside and one outside underneath. we live next to a corn field and so far so good after 5 years.

I had mouse problems for about a year.....A real mess, as you know.....I tried everything and nothing worked.....Then I got 5 of those sonic deterrents at Home Depot....Put them in the engine compartment and all around the inside of the MH.....Problem solved for the past 2 yrs.....

You will never plug all the holes that a mouse can get in.....Just too many that are not visible around corners, etc.....

The sonic things worked for me, I have heard mixed reviews from others.....

Red fox urine works to deter mice......we also use peppermint oil on cotton balls inside camper.
