Pet ferrets work! They are also fun to have along. You must ferret proof before you put them in the trailer, or the fuzzies will sneak out.
If you don't care for the aroma of ferrets, go to your local pet store and pick up some BiOdor, it goes in their water and in a few days you won't smell them, but the rodents will.
I've had up to 4 liberty trained ferrets at a time in the trailer, never had a mouse or rodent problem, even after being ferret free for 3 years.
You can just borrow a few for a weekend and that ought take care of the problem for a few years.
