And most of my dealings have been with "field mice". They either live in burrows or are really good at finding one dug by some other varmint when you chase them. :B
While it is true that on your initial treatment it is possible to have a rodent die in the building somewhere, the point IS to put the bait outside near the structure and get them BEFORE their established "home" is inside.
