Not being a fan is certainly O.K. but what happens on a "sticky trap" is not as you mention, in most cases. A majority of the time, not always, the rodent will become stuck and then in its struggles, stick its nose into the glue and suffocates, which is fairly quick, although not as quick as a trap.
These are filthy, disease causing animals that kills humans, even today, so IMHO they deserve no mercy, no humanity.
