Yep ... experienced it myself ... no other middle-folks involved.

My 4X4 pickup has sat parked when not in use in our backyard in the California sun for 18 years. The next to last set of tires on it for somewhere around 12 years were big old LT285 Coopers - you guessed it - no cracks in the Cooper sidewalls - what happened to that Cooper set is what should happen to tires ... their tread wore out. No blowouts or flats in them that whole time, either.

About 2 years ago I put another set of Coopers on the pickup and kindof expect the same experience going forward (UNLESS Coopers now come from Ch**a :E).

Maybe I should have put Coopers on the motorhome when I last changed out it's tires ... instead of Michelin M&S2's. :h

Some major cracks and others spiderweb cracks , but they all will eventually see signs of it.

Maybe that is why the RV that I bought from El Monte RV had those no name Trazano Tires on it. They were almost new when I purchased it, all that I could see were early 2010 except the inside duals that were a year older,I only found that out when they were taken off and replaced with the LTX MS2.

In our fleet of rentals, we have found that the LTXMS tires have been wearing about twice as fast as the tires they replaced. Probably not an issue for the occasional use private coach, but not good performance at all in the commercial fleet.

Wow Got them installed two weeks ago,couldn't get them any newer,1015!

Took them on a 400 mile trip and they performed outstandingly. No wander no wiggle, very smooth and quiet and a tad bit better mileage.

I have to give it to Michelin they seem to step up and do the right thing when there is a problem, I have received 3 safety recall notices, they must have papered everyone. One from them,one from the MFG of RV (Fleetwood)and one from El Monte RV where I bought the Unit.

Have had mine for a little over a year now. No problems, handle fine.

Our Class C's original M&S (no "2") set of tires only had a 60,000 mile warranty, and their tread wear was very little when we got rid of them - but the sidewall cracking was not acceptable. That's why we replaced them with a new set of M&S2 Michelin tires, and the ride and handling of the M&S2 tires has been superb.

We changed sizes when we went to the M&S2 set, so we had to buy seven(7) of them for our Class C.

For what it's worth:

- Michelin's M&S2 tires carry a 70,000 mile warranty.

- The new size of Michelin's M&S2 tires we had put on are Green X rated, which means less rolling friction - which maybe means slightly better gas mileage.

- The sidewall materials used in the M&S2 are different than what were used in the M&S and I'm hoping that the reason for this was, at least partially, to reduce or eliminate the premature sidewall cracking that was present in their M&S tire.

I put a set of M/S 2's on my F-150 and put 30,000 miles on them most of that towing a 22' 5K# TT. The ride and handling was outstanding. After trading up to our 2012 Class C, on a 2011 E-350 chassis, I got the recall notice for the M/S's that it came with. The original M/S were a 20 year old design and they were seeing some tread separation issues.

The tires only had 16,000 miles and looked fine but since Michelin was buying I was happy to upgrade. Got six brand new M/S 2's ($1,500), mounted and balanced for free... one month before a 7,500 mile cross country trip. :B

The potholes back east gave them a serious workout but as with my truck the performance is awesome. There are lots of fine tires out there but not many companies would stand up like Michelin and back their products. Like they say.... There's Michelin and then there's everything else.
