In AZ, because of the heat, tires last about about a 1/3 less, than cooler climates, so the 60,000 mi. warranty is attractive.

How? I am assuming you are doing this on your own dime, right? Wouldn't Michelin only pay for Michelin (or their other brands of tires such as BF Goodrich)?
Yes, ours are not a recall. We were going to get the Michelin LTX M/S2 from Costco, but it looks like a couple of months, at least, before they would have any in stock, so I started researching tires, and decided on the Goodyear Aventures.
