Our RV has "gone downhill" in the last 5 years that we have owned it and I would say I am out there pretty regularly fussing with it. The carpet is covered with a runner but it still seems to have stained, the couch back is rotting from the sun, even though we usually keep the shades drawn, the front curtain is rotting too though we have a reflectix cover on that window at all times. The graphics are cracked and look pretty bad and I have eternabond all over it which doesn't look that great. Partly we are making up for leaks we found from the first five years. I don't see why I shouldn't enjoy an RV even though we don't have a carport for it. Just have to accept the deterioration I guess. Mechanically it seems very good though, fluids changed regularly etc. and the insides still work, except the oven which I never did get to work even though I replaced every replaceable part in it. Weird.
RV's wear, but if you look for caring upgrades you will see if it has had some attention. New faucets, new water pump and storage tank, working sun shades (means they have been restrung in an older unit), and clean. Seems you can get a "worn" RV that is 10 years old for your $20,000 mark. Expecting brand new looking is a bit much I think.
