You are exactly right about many of the used rigs for sale out there. One thing I really don't understand is why the DEALERS would put these rigs on their lot for sale in dirty, smelly condition. I am sure they have employees who could take a couple of hours to at least wash and vacuum these things. Instead, you see smelly carpets, cigarettes still in the ashtrays, sinks that look like they have never been cleaned, etc. If I ever sell mine, it will probably be on consignment and I will clean it good before I take it to the dealer. I realize that people coming in and out to look at the units on the lot can track in some dirt, but a lot of these units look like they have never been cleaned. You rarely see dirty used cars or trucks on dealer lots. They have employees whose only job is to detail them before sale. Money well spent which will most likely be recouped.
I got turned off by dealers because of the cleanliness of units on their lot. There was a couple of them we looked at that were decent, but had filthy carpet. The salesman "oh, that will clean right up". Well, why the hell didn't you clean it BEFORE it was put up for sale??? Also, a lot of simple fixes they didn't bother to address, like loose screws in cabinet doors. To top it off, they won't budge much at all on the price. Makes no sense.
