I am learning a lot as our search continues. Generally I found that the better cared for units are offered by private sellers. I also find that generally they are all upside down on their unit and want me to cover their nut. That's not going to happen. The dealers I have talked to seem to be a lot more flexible on their pricing. They ask an astronomically high price at the beginning but agree quickly to cut it substantially when they find out I am serious and I know the value of the unit before I step onto their lot. I'm hoping this gets even better past Labor Day. The problem is that they don't have the quality of unit that I desire.
I'm checking out 2 more today, one a private owner 2008 with 42K miles, and the other at a dealer, a 2005 with 15K miles. My expectations are not high at this point. I fully expect to be disappointed. If these don't work I think we will have to research new ones and probably go that route. I'd prefer something a few years old so I don't have to take the depreciation hit.
