There is no need for 200 gallons of fuel (100+ yes) and if you cannot live without that much (not likely) a 100+ gallon tank could be put in a basement bay on a DP with a tag axle (you'll need a tag for the extra weight).
I had considered an extra tank as a redneck range extender but now that I discovered that there are units made with large tanks that is the way I want to go. You are right about slowing down though. I am not a risk taker and buying a $400,000 to $550,000 rig would be a big risk. Even if I use the truck and 5th wheel as a down payment and draw from my savings I could swing it for 12 to 18 months. But if I haven't sold my house and cars within that time I will be in deep voodoo. I am going to buy a $500,000 rig but I will do it in away where I won't have to be awake all night wondering how I will make my next payment.
