SheriffDoug,
Would be limited on narrower tracks and I know the GVWR is not that great
Exactly what these were designed for, not really Expedition areas in Africa Asia etc, then you require more GVWR, GCVWR and you have to pay for it
The 6 litre Diesel is a good choice, a lot better than than the Petrol Hog V10 that is normally fitted to the E Series
It is not an EarthRoamer agreed., which is very formidable, then again not that reliable, a lot of problems with them, the Sportsmobile will do light duty Off Road stuff. Sounds like you are going to have fun in France

These vehicles, flex very little, are Moab capable Rock Crawlers,
with a sofa, electric popup roof, refrigerator, porta potty, dual batteries, solar panel, etc

The van cost me US$7,350 at government auction, Missouri, the shipped to Advanced 4WD Systems in UTAH and painted in Salt Lake City.
The Earthroamer is a formidable vehicle, but my SMB 4X4 has cost me about $75,000 all up, and its in the US ready, then Europe/UK.
My wife wants to do the Tour de France, village to village, on the side of the road, watching the race, enjoying the scenery & local cafe's.
