Slides are installed in the Factory with the Motorhome leveled. So it is always a good Idea to level before moving slides.Bruce Brown wrote:
ours says level first then slides so I'll keep doing it that way.
But see... that's just it. The OP didn't ask how "you" do it, he asked how "he" should do it. Fleetwood, Newmar, Tiffin and just about every (if not all) require level first. Monaco is, and has been, a horse of a different color and those of us who either do not have a Monaco or never have had one, should not be advising this (or other new Monaco owner) person of what your procedure is. It only confuses the issue.

But Ron...you left out this part of my post :S ;
Every Monaco owner I've ever discussed this with says slides out then level. A good friend of ours owned (2) of them, both the same.
After many campfire debates over the merits of either way he went so far as to call the factory and ask why. Their reasoning was the box is the most square when everything is either on the leaf springs (gasser) or full air bags on the diesel, so thats the best time to deploy the slides. They were thinking there could be some box twisting and slide binding when leveled.
I guess you could make a case for either way - **SNIPPED OUT**
Probably if I owned a Monaco I'd do it the way they wanted.
See...if you read the whole post it's not even a little bit confusing. :W
