Pianotuna, I really respect your posts especially on electronics you seem to have a lot of knowledge and experience! I have to admit that I don't understand the term wired in a balanced manner? I installed the batteries the same way that they came out (not saying that it was correct)?

Please note that those voltages are the CHARGING voltage and not the battery voltage.....which should be around 12.8 after the charging has been removed for a while.

Thank You, I disconnected them and was very nervous while doing this! I didn't want anything to spark while disconnecting due to steaming coming out of the refill caps, and one battery was very hot it could of went at anytime! I lucked out, I wore eye protection and a heavy coat!

Go with AGM's so that you won't have so much acid and corrosion. AGM's are SO much cleaner. Make sure your inverter is set to the correct type of battery for charging.

Thanks Folks your all right on. I didn't know until I took the batteries into my battery guy! First of all he told me the average battery life was 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 years. He looked at my two coach batteries and they were both 9-1/2 years old. Completely wore out, bad cell, and the top of one of the coach batteries the battery case was broken. I cleaned the battery case up with water and baking soda and dried everything. I then installed 2 new Deep Cycle RV batteries and had my son come over with his voltage meter and one new battery read 14.4 the other 14.5 I also had him check my chassis battery and it was 14.5. The only thing I didn't like was paying $250.00 out the door for both batteries. I will keep an eye on the batteries for awhile.

Time for new batteries. Please disconnect before they explode.
